While many gas gooktops talk about power, this cooktop talks about power and control. Because while chefs need a faster time to boil, they also need complete control when simmering delicate sauces. That's why their gas cooktop feature patented Dual Flow Burners. From simmer to boil at a range of 140 degrees to 17,500 BTU's. DCS's 48" Professional Rangetop series is availabe with your choice of an 18,000 BTU griddle or grill... or both! In total there are 4 burner configurations: 4 burners with a center grill (this model), 4 burners with a grill and griddle (CS484GG), 5 burners with a large 17" griddle (CS485GD), or 6 burners with a center griddle (CS486GD).
This range boasts 6 Sealed Dual Flow Burners, with each burner capable of delivering 17,500 BTUs. The top of the range is completely sealed for easy cleanup. DCS builds all of its Ranges with Platform stlye stovetop grates which make it easy to slide cookware from one burner to another without lifting. This means easier and safer cooking. This model in the 48" Professional Rangetop Series also features a center grill surface which greatly diversifies your cooking options. The powerful 18,000 BTU Griddle surface is complete with 2 Sided Grilling Grates and a Grease Management Systems to help prevent flare-ups or fires. It also has a Fully Extendable Drip Tray for easy cleaning.
These Ranges also offer consistently lower Simmer Temperatures. Turn other residential burners down to simmer and the flame looks much the same as before, only smaller. This is not so with a DCS Range. The primary flame on our sealed Dual Flow Burners shuts off automatically when you turn it to simmer, leaving a smaller "retention flame" burning. This allows you to maintain a constant simmer temperature as low as 140 degrees, for an efficient and safe simmer. This means no more scalding delicate sauces.
These Professional Rangetops have a true built-in design with an overlap that eliminates the gabe between the rangetop & countertop, again making cleaning easy!
The photograph at the top of this page does not show the actual CS486GL grate configuration, which has a Grill in between the 6 burners. To get a clearer understanding of the grate configuration on this model, please note the Grate Configuration drawing directly above this description. This is how the top of the CS486GL will look.
