Founded in 1919 by Sam Plesser, Plesser’s is one of the nation’s oldest appliance retailers. Current owners Marc and Alan Howard are third generation appliance experts, and still follow the credo established by Sam Plesser over 100 years ago: “Treat the customer with respect. Offer them the best prices, products and support available."
Every team member at Plesser’s appliances is committed to carrying on the tradition of old-fashioned customer service and guaranteed customer satisfaction. Though our treatment of our customers may be old-fashioned, our staff’s product expertise is anything but. In the ever-changing appliance and electronic industry, our team is up to date on all the latest innovations from all the industry’s leading manufacturers. A group of over 500 member stores nationwide with a combined 9 billion dollars in revenue allows us to beat any prices from the big box super stores and online retailers; plus, our five centrally located warehouses affords you the opportunity for quick delivery nationwide.

Our Evolution
Plesser’s started as a small store in New Hyde Park on Long Island and has since grown into one of the largest independent retailers in the country. A Legacy Begins
Plesser’s hardware is founded by Sam Plesser in New Hyde Park, NY.
Growing the Legacy
The second location is opened on Main Street in Babylon, run by Sam’s son Morton.
The Next Generation
A third location is opened in Patchogue run by Sam’s other son Dave.
A New Era
Morton Plesser takes over the full business and keeps open the Babylon Showroom only.
From Employee to Owner
Long time employee Marc Howard purchases Plesser’s Appliances at the age of 25.
Brothers in Business
Marc’s younger brother Alan Howard joins him and the Plesser’s team expands to their third employee.
From Paper to Pixels
Plesser’s embraces the future and computerizes all retail operations via Richard Kabot.
Bigger and Better
Plesser’s relocates across the street in Babylon Village to a newly renovated and larger showroom.

With Animal Planets Tanked, Plesser’s builds the country’s first refrigerator fish tank and displays it in their showroom
