Blaze Range Hoods at Plesser's Appliances

Blaze range hoods, available at Plesser's Appliances, ventilate outdoor cooking equipment installed under a roof, pergola, or covered patio — where smoke and grease have nowhere to go. Built in stainless steel for outdoor conditions, in widths sized to Blaze grills and cooking surfaces.

Required, Not Optional, Under Cover
A grill under an open sky needs no hood. A grill under a roof, pergola with a solid cover, or covered patio does — smoke, grease, and combustion byproducts accumulate in an enclosed or semi-enclosed space, and that is both a nuisance and a safety issue. If your outdoor kitchen has a roof over it, ventilation is part of the scope.

Sizing to the Cooking Equipment
Outdoor grills produce far more heat, smoke, and grease-laden air than indoor cooking surfaces, so hood capacity has to be matched to the grill below rather than borrowed from indoor sizing logic. Hood width should meet or exceed the cooking surface. Ask about the recommended capacity for your specific grill rather than working from width alone.

Outdoor-Rated Construction
Outdoor hoods contend with weather, humidity, and salt air on top of grease. Stainless construction, corrosion-resistant hardware, and baffle filters designed for heavy grease loads are what let a hood survive outside. Confirm filter type and stainless grade — grease volume outdoors is higher than most homeowners expect.

Blowers and Duct Routing
Blower placement affects both delivered capacity and noise, with in-line or exterior-mounted options quieting a high-capacity installation. Duct diameter, run length, and elbow count all reduce delivered capacity, so design for the shortest straight route out through the structure. Confirm what blower is included versus ordered separately.

Structure, Height, and Installation Planning
Installation requires structure capable of carrying the hood, a duct path out through the roof or wall, a GFCI-protected circuit, and mounting height set to the cooking surface. All of it has to be framed before the covered structure is finished. Talk to the team at Plesser's Appliances and your builder about hood selection alongside your grill decision.
