GE Food Disposers at Plesser's Appliances

GE Disposall food waste disposers, available at Plesser's Appliances, install under the sink and grind food waste for the drain line. Offered in batch feed and continuous feed configurations across a range of motor sizes.

Batch Feed vs. Continuous Feed
A continuous feed disposer runs from a wall switch while you feed waste in. A batch feed runs only when a stopper is in place, so it cannot run with a hand or utensil in the chamber. Batch feed is meaningfully safer, particularly with children in the house; continuous feed is faster for volume.

Motor Size and Grinding Capacity
Motor horsepower determines what the unit handles without jamming. Smaller motors suit light use; larger ones handle fibrous vegetable waste and the volume a household that cooks seriously generates. Undersizing is the most common cause of jams and early replacement.

Noise and Insulation
Disposers are among the loudest appliances in a kitchen, and insulation on higher models reduces that substantially. In an open-plan kitchen, the difference is immediately noticeable. Confirm what sound insulation your model includes.

Grind Components and Durability
Stainless grinding components resist corrosion better than galvanized, particularly in hard water. Confirm component materials and warranty terms, since this is where the price differences in the category actually go.

Plumbing, Electrical, and Installation Planning
Installation requires sink flange compatibility, drain connection, a hardwired connection or grounded outlet under the sink, and a wall switch for continuous feed models. Talk to the team at Plesser's Appliances about motor sizing, feed type, and sink compatibility before ordering.
