Miele Induction Cooktops at Plesser's Appliances

Miele induction cooktops, available at Plesser's Appliances, install into a countertop cutout as a flat glass surface that heats the pan rather than the surface. The lineup includes zoned models and full-surface designs that detect cookware anywhere on the glass.

Immediate, Precise Heat
Induction puts energy directly into the cookware rather than heating air around it, so water boils faster than on gas and a setting change registers immediately. At the low end it holds a steady temperature without cycling, making it genuinely capable at melting and long simmers. The usable range from high to low is wider than most cooks expect.

Full-Surface Induction
Full-surface models detect cookware anywhere on the glass rather than requiring pans aligned to fixed rings, which changes how you use the cooktop with oversized pans, multiple small pans, or a long fish pan. This is Miele's most distinctive offering in the category. Confirm which configuration your model uses.

TempControl and Sensor Features
TempControl on select models holds a set surface temperature for frying rather than a power level, which keeps oil from overheating and food from burning. PowerFlex and bridge zones combine areas for larger cookware. Confirm which features your model includes and any power-sharing behavior between zones.

Cookware Requirements
Induction works only with magnetic cookware. A refrigerator magnet that sticks to the pan base is the test, and aluminum, copper, and most glass will not work. Anyone switching from gas should plan for replacing part of their cookware, a real cost worth accounting for at specification rather than after installation.

Electrical, Cutout, and Clearance Planning
Induction cooktops need dedicated high-amperage 240V service, the most common obstacle in older Long Island homes, so have an electrician confirm panel capacity before ordering. Full-surface models draw more than zoned ones. Cutout dimensions and clearance below vary by model. Talk to the team at Plesser's Appliances about electrical requirements and cutout specs before the countertop is templated.
