Viking Freestanding Gas Grills

Viking Freestanding Gas Grills at Plesser's Appliances

Viking freestanding gas grills, available at Plesser's Appliances, mount on a cart with casters and require no masonry, cabinetry, or permanent installation — the route to Viking outdoor cooking without an island build.

No Construction Required
A cart-mounted grill needs only a gas connection or propane tank and a level surface. For a patio where an island is not in the plans, a rental property, or a household that may move, that flexibility is the value. Many models can be converted to built-in later, so a cart purchase is not necessarily a dead end.

Same Cooking Engineering
Freestanding models carry the same stainless burners, grates, and heat distribution as the built-in versions — the cart changes the mounting, not the cooking. Confirm burner count and output for your width, along with rotisserie and infrared options.

Cart Features and Side Burner
Carts typically include shelves, storage below, and casters for repositioning, with an optional side burner on many configurations for sauces and sides. A side burner is what keeps you from going back inside mid-cook. Confirm which cart features and accessories are included versus sold separately.

Natural Gas or Propane
Freestanding grills are available for natural gas with a fixed connection or propane with a tank stored in the cart. Natural gas means never swapping tanks; propane means the grill can move anywhere. Confirm which configuration your model is and whether conversion is possible, since this decides how the grill is actually used.

Clearance, Weather, and Installation Planning
Freestanding placement still requires clearance to combustibles and, for natural gas, a connection point. A cover is worth budgeting for, since a grill left exposed year-round in this climate deteriorates faster than one covered.
