ZLINE Freestanding Wine Coolers at Plesser's Appliances

ZLINE freestanding wine coolers, available at Plesser's Appliances, stand on their own without requiring cabinetry, cutouts, or a construction project — the route to proper wine storage in a finished room.

No Cabinetry Required
A freestanding unit needs only a location, a circuit, and adequate clearance — no framed opening, no millwork, no cutout dimensions to coordinate. In an existing dining room, a den, or a finished basement bar, that means wine storage without a renovation. Many units can also be built in later if plans change.

Finished on All Sides
Because a freestanding unit is visible from more than the front, the cabinet is finished accordingly rather than designed to be hidden by panels. It holds up in the middle of a room rather than only when framed by cabinetry. Confirm whether the unit is also rated for built-in installation if that flexibility matters.

Temperature Stability and Zones
Wine is more sensitive to fluctuation than to a slightly imperfect setpoint, because repeated swings age a bottle faster than a steady temperature a degree or two off. Electronic controls hold conditions closely rather than cycling. Confirm the temperature range and whether the model offers dual-zone control.

UV-Resistant Glass and Siting
UV-resistant treated glass limits transmission while keeping the collection visible, with LED lighting illuminating without adding heat. Because a freestanding unit can go anywhere, siting matters more — keep it out of direct sun and away from heat sources, which a built-in location usually handles by default.

Clearance, Electrical, and Installation Planning
Freestanding placement still requires a dedicated circuit and adequate clearance for ventilation — a freestanding unit pushed tight against cabinetry on both sides will struggle. Talk to the team at Plesser's Appliances about widths, clearance requirements, zone configuration, and whether built-in application is supported.
