As an interior designer for many years, I design many kitchens. As part of my thought process, I envision the reliability, efficiency, and ease of care of the appliances for my clients. Whoever designed this handle, evidently doesn't cook or work in a kitchen. It is impossible to keep clean because your hands have to reach into the front of the dishwasher to open it. An actual handle is much more practical and keeps the front from getting messy.
I will say that Bosch diswashers are the only brand that I spec. As a 20 yr. + owner ( I just purchased my second one), I can attest to their reliability.

Good product, quiet, dishes get very clean with little to no pre rinsing.
Only negative is different configuration to arrange dishes. Not used to it yet, but am sure it will do well in time.

I LOVE my new dishwasher! It's quiet easy to load, easy to operate and the small top shelf is perfect for some of the small dishes I have and I put knives there to keep little hands safe when they help me unload the dishes!
