Easy to install

This hood was as easy to install as they say. Pleased I could do it myself without calling an electrician.

Nice modern range hood

This effective and attractive range hood was an upgrade from my old hood with new benefits such as LED lights that are as strong as halogens and easier cleaning. It is well made and should last a long time. Installation required me to buy a long driver bit for my drill and only that method worked for me (of the two methods in the instructions). There is a low-pitched hum from the transformer but we've adjusted to it.

Sleek design provides efficient utility

Purchased this product last year to replace a range hood of the same make, circa 1960. The previous hood still looked beautiful with a true copper finish. However, the light switch and fan were worn out. This stainless finish on this new hood looks great. The shape works very well, as it does not jut out the way the previous one did, avoiding a lot of bumped heads. The LED lighting is amazingly bright and useful. Unfortunately, it does not have a night-light setting, or at least a lower intensity setting which I think would have provided greater utility for the product. My major problem with this unit is that while the low fan setting is quiet and seems to efficiently filter most cooking odors and fumes adequately, the high setting sounds like a jet engine and vibrates the hood to an inordinate degree. It was professionally installed, so I can only attribute this characteristic to the product and not the installation. Still, I doubt I'd ever need that high speed level unless something were burning and emitting a lot of smoke. My hood was installed as a non-vented unit, so I think it might provide greater odor removal if it were vented. The charcoal filters don't seem to remove very strong odors, like fish. I felt it would have been prohibitively expensive to install my hood as a vented unit, unfortunately. Overall, I think this new range hood is a very nice design and works as expected.
