I want to keep the integrated look but don't want to tied in to a 42" or 48" build in that potentially can cost $14,000-20,000. So, after much research, I ordered this frige. We are empty nesters and don't mind a smaller capacity refrigerator, so we downsized from a 42" GE monogram to a 36" build in. I also redesigned my entire kitchen and added a beverage cooler to give this smaller frige less burden. I stored all the drinks, milk, sauces in my beverage cooler under the island so this frige is for produce. If I had been more familiar w Fisher &Paykel, I would have bought two side by side column refrigerators but since this brand is new to me, I decided to be very conservative and just ordered a very modest 36". If for some reason this frige doesn't work out, I will simply order a stand alone 36". I read the owner's manual and ordered my own custom panel. They are not here yet so I will have to post pictures later. The frige inside compartments are well thought out and hold quite a bit of stuff for two people. The shelves are taller so a bit hard to reach. The doors are beautiful, and I think it's unique in its design. The freezer drawer bottom has plenty of space and I love the two top drawers. They allow me to see and reach packages easily. The 2nd drawer allows me to freeze my homemade dumplings and pastry on the baking sheet. I just love that. This is a taller version of the 36" integrated refrigerator, but I later realized that it doesn't have more capacity. Ummm, puzzling. I still have plenty of room in my kitchen so I simply designed an upper top open shelf to hold all my baking sheets above this frige. This is the first time I ordered Fisher & Paykel and I'm very pleased w the product, the instruction manual, the rebate, and the extended warranty that the manufacturer offered.

I did not choose this appliance. It came with the new home we purchased. It is a built in which means we can't move it away from the wall. This appliance is very tall. It makes it difficult for anyone on the shorter side to reach the top bins or shelf. The doors are very hard to open and close. This model does not have water in the door, just an ice maker which produces small cubes. The ice maker stopped working because it cuts off six months after installation. Installation was four months before we took possession, as we had no control over when the builder plugged it in. The ice maker will stop functioning every six months whether it's used or not, forcing the owner to purchase new filters. One of the side panels inside the fridge, which are mostly decorative, fell off. We had to tape it back up with double sticky tape. The bottom freezer section has a large bin and two sliding shelves which are useful. The fridge and freezer do keep a consistent cold temperature.
