Have had the new washer for about a week and absolutely love it. Went back to "Top Load" after two front loaders and was never satisfied and don't feel like an of the reasons people cite for preferring front loaders are valid. They get nasty around the front seal, tend to leak and clothes ARE NOT cleaner. This new top load...and while the Frigidaire site says it is a discontinued model, was purchased as a "scratch and dent" due to a small scrape on the lid. It works great. Do not overload. Every complaint and poor review I've read seem to be easily remedied by simply sorting laundry, using correct cycle and not overloading. Sort by color, by weight and by type. Use a mesh laundry wash bag for items such as lingerie...anything with thin straps or hooks or delicate trim. As for complaints of how long the cycle takes...its less than half the time of my previous front loaders. It's sensors determine the water level needed for the load and the type of wash selected. After being without a washer for a couple of weeks while waiting for the part to arrive that was supposed to have repaired the front loader...I had the laundry for family of four piled up. It took very little time to catch up and everything is clean and feels better than it has in months. The final complaint I saw addressed the lock feature on the lid. Every front loader has this. I like it on a top loader due to safety with small children in the house....ever had the cat get in the washer? Or the small family dog PUT there? It happens. There again though...if loaded properly and not overloaded, there won't be an issue with machine getting out of balance. Read your manual, people. Or google how to sort and load laundry for maximum cleanliness and efficiency. We have a Frigidaire refrigerator/freezer and now a washer and I couldn't be happier with each of them.

I purchased this washer 15 years ago brand new for $100. Best Value! Last 15 years, no repairs ever needed, even after being submerged in 1.5 feet of water after a hurricane.
