Used it for 2 months last summer, & covered it up. Just opened it and it worked like it was never off. It's my 2nd one, and this one is newer but smaller, at the same power rating. Smaller size, but very powerful, easier to handle.

Looked at all available options and chose this GE Model as best all around package; price ;features; ease of installationInstalled today with friend and recommend two people put it in which made it an easy job.We have a storm window in front of the window and had to add a 2x4 to the sill to clear the height of the storm window frame. Installation instructions could be a bit clearer on where to place the air conditioner on the raised sill. The instructions merely need to say--place the air conditioner so the bottom bracket sits outside the sill or raised sill with the bottom bracket touching the outside edge of the sill. The installation was easy; the air conditioner seems to preform exactly as advertised and on day one GE has a HAPPY customer.
