I purchasesd this unit to replace a 20 year old model. What a difference! The energy setting which the uniti is defaulted to shuts off the unit including the fan. I just set the temperature and I don't have to think about it. I actually am suprized at how infrequently it runs. We installed it in our bedroom three feet from our bed and the sound has not be bothersome to sleeping.
