Both units were 24,000 BTU, but this GE is significantly quieter, and cools better. If it holds up in our Houston summers, it is a much better unit. So far, I love it! It is so much quieter and really cools great. Easy to install as well.

So far so good, if I had a complaint, it would be the noise but I am still satisfied with it because I really needed it

Once again GE saves the day! Did my research at 4 am. Our AC died at 4 am..and in Louisiana you don't live with out AC. Went to the store bought it and came home installed it and once again all is right in the home! Took less than a half hour to cool the whole house...our home is 1475 sq ft. TY again GE You Rock!
