Before the one yr warranty ended called for service because of ice build up in the fridge and grinding noise. When service took off the back panel in the freezer, it was a sheet of ice. The evaporator motor was replaced. So felt I had to buy a 4 yr warranty for $129. Yr 2 and even now has "hot spots" - put 2 water bottles in freezer over night, one gets frozen and the other does not. Also was making popping noises. Service installed a sound damper. Service person said you get what you pay for, but it was the only one that would fit in my kitchen space. Had my previous GE fridge for over 25 yrs and NO problems. Only reason for getting the new one was for the Energy Savings,
