Received as a gift. Been working great since 2008. Minimal problems easily fixed by service.

The features are great, there just not enough room to store food.

We bought this refrigerator in 2008 and really enjoyed it the first 2 years. Right after the warranty (in 2011) went out, we had to replace the main board because the appliance quit working. Just a few months after that, the ice maker dispenser quit working. It still makes ice, but we can't push the button and have it pour the ice into our glasses. We never had this worked on because we didn't want to spend the money. Then last year, in 2013, we had to have it worked on twice. Once to replace the compressor and then once - just a month later - to replace the temperature sensor. Now it is 2014 and, once again, we are having trouble with it. The refrigerator began warming up and food began to spoil. We had a repairman come to work on it and he put another board into it (like we had replaced in 2011). We are waiting to see if this has fixed the problem, but the repairman wasn't 100% sure that this is the problem. This is the only appliance that we have ever splurged on - and it will be the last. We paid quite a bit of money for this because GE has a good reputation and we really wanted to have a side-by-side stainless steel refrigerator. Maybe this one is just a "lemon", but it was not worth the money at all!!!! I wish we had just bought something less expensive. In 6 years we have had to have this appliance worked on 4 times (not including the problem with the ice maker that has never been fixed) - and that doesn't come cheap. With the money that we have spent on repairs, we could have almost already paid for another less expensive refrigerator.
