We purchased this induction range 6 years ago and we are so happy we did. Have not had any issues with it. We had never used induction before this purchase but we are sold on it! This range is high quality and looks amazing too! We use it daily and it makes cooking more enjoyable. No regrets on this purchase!

We love our induction range, which we purchased in 2019, so going on 4 years. That being said, we are ecstatic that we decided to purchase the extended warranty. As we were researching the choice for induction, Consumer Reports had issued a warning that the acceptance in North America (different in Europe where it induction was widely utilized) has been hampered by the lack of service people who could repair the unit, should it become non-functional. So the option for a 3 year extension of the warranty made sense to us, making any breakdown an issue for KitchenAid, not the owners.
Well indeed, that prognostication by Consumer Reports did somewhat come true. We have just started having an issue with the induction cooktop.
While preparing on the cooktop, we will have repeatedly occur, perhaps once every 2nd or 3rd day, a shut down of the induction elements. The entire surface unit will not respond with any lighting up of the touch sensitive switches, and the elements all shut off, making the cooking process come to a standstill. There is a warning beep that goes off during this episode, about every 15-20 seconds. The only solution is to go to the basement, and check the circuit breaker. The circuit has not flipped (the oven portion of the range is still functional, and oven light comes on, etc.) but if we flip it "off" for a few seconds, then back on, the cooktop comes back to life, and dinner can proceed in its march forward. The cooktop might shut down again, or not, as it is variable and unpredictable. I called the warranty service line, and we are scheduled for a service call next week. Whether this is a minor relay problem, or a major (expensive) issue is awaiting the repair person's visit.
Additionally, and unrelated but concurrently, the fan for the convection oven's circulation of heat through the oven, has started making a loud, persistent clacking noise as if one of the fan blades is striking a strut or the mounting screws are loose and it is banging against the side of the fan opening. Also to be diagnosed when service arrives.
The baking drawer is one aspect that we have not used much. I have noted it is somewhat shallow in it depth, and many things I would bake in a Pyrex or Corning Ware container will not fit in the shallow depth of the baking drawer. For cookies or something on a sheet pan, it is perfect especially in the summer when you do not want to heat up the whole kitchen pre-heating the large oven.
