Great Washer

I love that it fits a king sized quilt! It takes large loads and small. I like how it adjusts the water per load.

Loved until it stopped working

I have had nothing but Maytag washers since I was old enough to start buying them myself. I bought the Maytag Centennial washer with matching dryer about 3 years ago. My dryer stopped working out of the blue with no notice of anything wrong about a year ago. My washer started making a strange noise today while washing a medium load of towels. I noticed that the drum cradle (dont know the official name) seems to have dropped. This really upset me as this is the first purchase my husband and I made in full for a new set. It wasnt used. Now I am going to have to look for a cheap used set to keep up with my family's needs. Anyways I feel like this set may have been cheaply made.

Quality BUT deep wtr wash a joke, won't do pillows

Sorry Maytag,........your R&D missed the boat on this one. I really wish I had a better review. Bough this to replace our great working Duet washer. (just was no longer big enough). Heard the top load HE's were even better than the front load machines. Spent hours on the net, and 2 hours in the store comparing machines. We were really excited to give it a whirl. Set if for "deep water wash " cycle....where is the deep water?? Clothes on top never make it to the agitator at the bottom. We've tried the "deep water cycle" and the "bulky sheets" cycle. So larger loads don't really see any agitation. Bought new hoses and ran hot and cold water lines leading to machine for 10 minutes as everyone should. Yes, we are on city water. Forget ever doing pillows. You'd be lucky to get 2 in the machine to clean at once. Any more and forget it. Our front load worked great for those. And did 4-5 at a time. For normal washing it does just fine. Quality is Maytag quality. I will give them that one. We bought it for capacity and early reviews. Now I see the real world has the same issues as we do. May just bite the bullet and get another front load. Unless Maytag has an exchange policy for a front load?? Hmmm Maytag?
