Our first experience actually cooking on a griddle after 40+ years of a regular gas grill. The temperature of the griddle increases quickly after starting. There has been some slight timing adjustments of cooking with the temperature. We have cooked burgers, hot dogs, brats, finished baby back ribs, veggies, and French toast on the griddle. Prepping the grill with oil is not an issue. Cleaning the grill after the cooking has been a slight adjustment scraping the leftovers into the slot and then cleaning the griddle with a slight amount of water. Per the instructions we put a small amount of oil on the griddle when finished. My biggest complaint is there is not a gas tank scale to let you know how much gas is left in the tank. The 36" model has the scale. For the money you pay a weight gauge could have been put on the 30" model. My old Weber Genesis grill had a scale which takes guessing how much gas is left in the tank.

My Weber was 20+ years old and I wanted a new grill. I started reading reviews about griddles and decided to give it a try. We bought the 30" slate and could not be more satisfied. There's a small learning curve, but once you get the handle of it, it makes grilling fun again. Clean up is a breeze.

The Slate Rust Resistant Grill is a great addition to any summer outdoor cooking need. The highly durable 30"
rust resistant griddle is crafted well and will stand up to all your cooing needs. It spacious to allow for a large salmon, rack of ribs multiple steaks and space for side options live grilled veggies. I love how wells the heat is distributed and how even my food cooks. This will make a awesome addition to anyone who loves to cook outside. I know I once my outdoor renovation is complete I will be using the Weber Slate griddle for many years to come.
