I buy this product a month and a half ago and my wife and I we love it

This is an elegant hood for our cooktop located in a free-standing island. It is powerful, and most importantly quiet, except for the highest speed. It mounts very solidly to the joists in the ceiling, with only a 6" hole for the ducting vent and a small one for the power wire. Attic access is important if you vent it through the roof. One recommendation is to mount the hood back away from the edge of the counter a bit so you don't bump your head on the glass. Installation instructions are minimal in this regard. Wish the halogen lamps had a dimmer to use as a mood light!

Absolutely the nicest island style, stainless and glass hood available and worth the price as it preserves openness and accents the rest of the stainless kitchen.
