Broken Washer LID

The washer does a fine job, but the lid broke about a year after we purchased it. We have tried taping it, and we always have to press hard on the back left corner to get the cycle to start. It seems like many people have had this issue as well. Why isn't Whirlpool addressing this obvious malfunction???

Disappointed with this washer

Like most of the reviews and other online comments, the lid was designed poorly and Whirlpool does not stand behind it. I've removed it and bonded the top and bottom sections with JB Weld to hold it together - ridiculous failure after a year. The washer makes all kinds of crazy noises too. Too much technology and not enough focus on the basics of building a good washing machine. I wanted to buy a US built washer but this one has turned me off from Whirlpool.

LID BROKEN JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!

This is THE worst appliance I have ever owned it doesn't get stains out because it doesn't use enough water and what's worse is the lid broke which is a safety hazard for my kids and my pets because the front part of the glass is detached from the glass and stays on to keep the washer operating so it thinks the lid is closed but there's no glass on top!
