AGA Cooking Ranges at Plesser's Appliances

AGA cooking ranges, available at Plesser's Appliances, span the traditional cast iron heat-storage cooker and a full line of conventional ranges built in the same British foundry tradition. Whether you want the always-on radiant cooking AGA invented in 1922 or a modern range with AGA styling and cast iron construction, the choice runs deeper than finish.

Heat Storage vs. Conventional
A traditional AGA stores heat in cast iron and radiates it continuously into multiple always-ready ovens at fixed temperatures. A conventional AGA range works like any other range — you set a temperature and it heats. The first is a different way of cooking and a constant presence in the room; the second is a range that happens to be beautifully built. Decide which you actually want before looking at finishes.

Multiple Ovens at Fixed Temperatures
Heat-storage models offer two to five ovens simultaneously at roasting, baking, simmering, and warming temperatures, so you move the food rather than change the oven. No preheating, no waiting. Conventional models offer adjustable single or double ovens in the familiar arrangement. Confirm the oven count and configuration for the model you are considering.

Hotplates and Cooking Surfaces
Traditional AGAs use cast iron boiling and simmering plates under insulated lids, which conduct heat directly into the pan — a different technique than burners, and one that rewards the right cookware. Conventional AGA ranges use gas burners, radiant elements, or induction zones. Confirm the surface type and whether your cookware suits it.

Enamel Finishes and Presence
Vitreous enamel finishes across AGA's palette are what make these ranges the anchor of a room rather than an appliance in it. Cream, claret, pewter, and darker tones all read very differently against cabinetry. Availability varies by model and finishes are built to order — settle color early in the project.

Weight, Fuel, and Installation Planning
Cast iron cookers are extremely heavy and may require floor assessment, specialist installation, and clearance planning well beyond a standard range. Fuel and electrical requirements differ substantially across the line. Talk to the team at Plesser's Appliances about model, installation requirements, ventilation, and lead times before the kitchen is finalized.
