Big Chill Induction Ranges at Plesser's Appliances

Big Chill induction ranges, available at Plesser's Appliances, pair a modern glass-ceramic induction surface with vintage styling — the combination that makes retro design workable in a home without gas service. Offered at 30" across the Retro, Classic, and Pro collections, in the same 200-plus color program as the rest of the Big Chill lineup.

Modern Induction Under a Period Exterior
Induction puts energy directly into the pan rather than heating air around it, so it responds faster than gas and holds a low setting steadily without cycling. The glass ceramic surface stays cool except where the pan contacts it, which means spills do not bake on. Nothing about the cooking experience is retro except the way it looks.

Automatic Zone Sizing and Heat Levels
Heating zones automatically adjust to the size of the cookware placed on them rather than requiring you to match pan to element, and nine heat levels give real control from melting to searing. A heat accelerator gets zones up to temperature quickly. Confirm element sizes, wattage, and available boost functions against the current spec sheet.

Safety Features and Knob Lock
Pan detection means a zone will not heat without cookware on it, and a knob lock function disables the controls electronically — genuinely useful in a household with small children, and something a gas range cannot offer. The cool surface itself is the largest safety difference from an open flame.

Colors, Trims, and Knobs
The induction range carries the full Big Chill finish program: seven standard colors, six premium, over 200 custom, with chrome, brushed brass, or copper trim and custom knob colors. Choosing induction does not narrow the design options. Coordinate trim across the hood and any other Big Chill units in the room.

Cookware, Electrical, and Lead Time
Induction requires magnetic cookware — a magnet that sticks to the pan base is the test, and aluminum and copper will not work, so budget for replacing part of your cookware. It also needs dedicated high-amperage 240V service, which frequently drives a panel evaluation in older Long Island homes; have an electrician confirm capacity before ordering. Custom colors are built to order, so factor lead time in. Talk to the team at Plesser's Appliances about collection, electrical requirements, color and trim, and current lead times.
