Big Chill Range Hoods at Plesser's Appliances

Big Chill vent hoods, available at Plesser's Appliances, are designed to match the brand's ranges in color, trim, and styling — which matters more here than with most hoods, since a stainless hood over a colored range undoes the whole effect. Built in stainless steel with welded seamless corners, hoods are offered in Retro Bungalow and Pro styling across several widths and heights.

Designed to Match the Range
The hood is the second most visible appliance on a cooking wall, and a mismatched one is the most common way a Big Chill kitchen goes wrong. Hoods carry the same color and metal trim program as the ranges, so the pair can be specified as one unit. Coordinate width, height, color, and trim across both at order.

Retro Bungalow and Pro Styling
The Retro Bungalow style carries full period detailing in wider widths and a taller profile. Pro styling is more restrained, offered in a shorter height for narrower widths and a taller profile at 48". Which reads correctly depends on ceiling height and how much presence you want the hood to have — a tall hood in a low-ceilinged kitchen dominates the room.

Construction and Filtration
Stainless steel baffle filters, welded seamless corners, and a three-phase grease collection system handle the working side of the job, and baffle filters are more effective and easier to clean than mesh. Dimmable LED lighting and a seamless control panel handle the daily use. Confirm filter type and capture area on the current spec sheet for your model.

Sizing Capacity to the Range
Hood capacity should be matched to the output of the range below it, and hood width should meet or exceed the range width so capture extends past the outer burners. Undersized ventilation shows up as lingering odor and grease film on cabinets. Ask about the recommended pairing for the specific range you are specifying rather than working from width alone.

Ducted or Recirculating, and Installation Planning
Shorter models offer a recirculating option where ducting to the exterior is not possible — useful in a condo or interior wall, though ducted always performs better. Ducted installations depend on duct diameter, run length, and elbow count for delivered capacity. Mounting height above the cooking surface needs to be set before framing. Talk to the team at Plesser's Appliances about hood and range selection together, along with duct routing and lead times.
