Ilve Cooktops & Rangetops

Ilve Cooktops & Rangetops at Plesser's Appliances

Ilve cooktops and rangetops, available at Plesser's Appliances, bring Italian construction and brass burner performance to a countertop or cabinet installation, freeing the oven to sit at working height elsewhere in the kitchen. Offered in gas and induction configurations across a range of widths.

Cooktop vs. Rangetop
A cooktop drops into a countertop cutout and sits shallow, preserving usable drawer or cabinet space below. A rangetop is a deeper, taller unit with professional control depth and typically higher output, installed above a cabinet run rather than into a counter. This determines the cabinetry design, so settle it before millwork.

Sealed Brass Burners
Gas cooktops and rangetops use sealed brass burners delivering high output for searing alongside low settings controlled enough for real simmering. Sealed construction keeps spills on the surface rather than dropping into a burner box, and heavy cast iron grates support sliding cookware. Confirm burner count, output, and grate design for your width.

Induction Options
Induction cooktops respond faster than gas, hold low settings without cycling, and wipe clean as a flat glass surface, but require magnetic cookware and substantial dedicated 240V service. Confirm zone layout and any power-sharing between zones, since that determines what you can run at full output simultaneously.

Rangetop Surface Configurations
Rangetops offer the deepest surface configuration choice, with griddle, grill, and French top options in combination with burners on select widths, fixed at the factory. Because configuration cannot be changed later, this is an order-time decision. Confirm which combinations exist in your chosen width.

Cutout, Clearance, and Ventilation Planning
Cutout dimensions, countertop overhang, clearance to combustibles, and cabinet requirements below differ between cooktops and rangetops and between widths. Ventilation should be sized to surface output rather than chosen afterward. Talk to the team at Plesser's Appliances about cutout specs, gas or electrical requirements, and hood sizing before the countertop is templated.
