Miele Range Hoods at Plesser's Appliances

Miele range hoods, available at Plesser's Appliances, cover wall-mounted, island, under-cabinet, insert, and downdraft configurations, engineered to work with Miele cooktops through the brand's Con@ctivity automatic control.

Connectivity Automatic Operation
Connectivity links a Miele hood to a Miele cooktop so the hood turns on, adjusts fan speed, and runs on after cooking automatically based on what the cooktop is doing. In practice that means ventilation actually gets used correctly rather than being forgotten or left on low. Confirm compatibility between the specific hood and cooktop you are specifying.

Sizing Capacity to the Cooking Surface
Hood capacity must be matched to the output of the cooking surface below, and hood width should meet or exceed it so capture extends past the outer burners. Undersized ventilation shows up as lingering odor and grease film on cabinets. Ask about recommended capacity for your specific cooktop rather than working from width alone.

Five Configurations for Five Layouts
Wall-mounted canopy hoods sit against a wall with the most capture area. Island hoods mount from the ceiling, finished on all sides. Under-cabinet models preserve the storage above. Inserts install inside a custom enclosure. Downdraft rises beside the cooktop where nothing can hang overhead. The layout dictates the configuration.

Filtration, Lighting, and Noise
Grease filters are dishwasher-safe on most models, with LED lighting illuminating the cooking surface and multiple fan speeds. Miele hoods are engineered for low noise at usable speeds, which matters because a hood too loud to run on high gets run on low. Confirm noise ratings alongside capacity figures.

Duct Routing, Blowers, and Installation Planning
Duct diameter, run length, and elbow count all reduce delivered capacity, so design for the shortest straight route. Blower options and whether a blower ships with the hood vary, so confirm what is included. Mounting height and, on high-capacity installations, make-up air requirements need settling with your builder before framing. Talk to the team at Plesser's Appliances about hood and cooktop selection together.
