Sub-Zero Refrigerators at Plesser's Appliances
Sub-Zero refrigerators, available at Plesser's Appliances, are built around dual refrigeration and air purification — the two technologies that define why food keeps longer in a Sub-Zero. Built in Wisconsin by Sub-Zero Group, the lineup spans the Classic, Designer, and PRO Series in French door, side-by-side, over-and-under, and column configurations.
Dual Refrigeration
Most refrigerators run one cooling system for both compartments, which forces a compromise — air dry enough for the freezer is too dry for produce. Sub-Zero uses two independent systems, delivering cool, moist air to the refrigerator and frigid, dry air to the freezer. Produce stays crisp longer, frozen food resists freezer burn, and odors do not transfer between compartments.
NASA-Inspired Air Purification
Produce releases ethylene gas as it ripens, and in a sealed cabinet that gas accelerates spoilage across everything near it. Sub-Zero's air purification system, based on technology originally developed for NASA, scrubs the air of ethylene and odor every 20 minutes. The cartridge is replaced roughly once a year, and the control panel indicates when it is due.
Precise Temperature and Humidity Control
A built-in microprocessor holds temperature closely rather than letting it drift between compressor cycles, and Designer Series models add Split Climate® intelligent cooling, which holds the refrigerator within one degree of setpoint. Magnetic door seals and soft-close hinges lock in temperature and humidity, while crisper and deli drawers sit in low-temperature, high-humidity zones.
Configurations and Series
French door and side-by-side units put refrigeration and freezer in one cabinet; over-and-under places fresh food above and freezer below; columns dedicate a full cabinet to each, paired as a matched run. Classic carries the recognizable Sub-Zero grille, Designer is fully panel-ready to disappear into cabinetry, and PRO is stainless inside and out. The series choice is a design decision — the preservation technology carries across all three.
Interior, Connectivity, and Installation Planning
Full-extension slide-out shelving, soft-on LED lighting at adjustable brightness, automatic ice with water filtration, and Wi-Fi connectivity on select models handle daily use. Installation requires a framed opening, a dedicated circuit, and a water line for ice and dispensing.
